i asked why the roommate sounded suspiciously like me. he said the story was improvised and the resemblance was coincidence. then the character mentioned my actual job and my habit of collecting mugs

i wasn't offended by storytelling. i was offended that he'd turned me into a comic villain so his chatbot romance could feel more exciting

he apologized and rewrote the story with a less obvious antagonist. i told him he could keep the fantasy world, but i preferred not to be its unpaid villain
